What We Do
About AnalogLab
Early-stage Design Consulting
Before your design journey even begins, AnalogLab will guide you in preparing a realistic timeline and budget for your product. Understanding the complexities of design and manufacturing processes is essential — it’s how AnalogLab helps clients save money, time, and emotional resources. Throughout the design process, AnalogLab places a strong emphasis on transparency and planning to help clients navigate their projects with confidence.
From Concept to Design
Following the completion of an actionable design strategy, analogLab begins developing a series of strategically focused design concepts and ideas. This informal and essential process is what is sometimes called the "sketch phase," where many conceptual ideas and sketches are proposed and discussed in detail. This exciting analog phase is a key part of the thought process and the evolution of targeted ideas.
Comprehensive Designs
creating emotive and focused solutions is where AnalogLab's passion and expertise shine. The process begins by transforming your idea into a vivid design concept, setting the stage for its journey towards becoming a tangible product. At this step, AnalogLab works closely with you, collaborating with engineers, materials experts, producers and even scientists. This interdisciplinary approach ensures that products not only resonate with customers but are also efficient in production.

Design is Analog
At analogLab, we view design as thoughtful poetry delivered with creativity and passion. Meaningful design begins in a simple analog way, involving our minds, hands, and hearts. We start by thinking, sketching, creating prototypes, and working with our hands, all while engaging in discussion, research, and debate. We embrace natural and simple tools, ultimately implementing our concepts with the most modern technology.
We recognize that great ideas do not emerge in a vacuum. For over 25 years, Thomas and the analogLab team have collaborated with a dynamic mix of international designers, architects, artists, photographers, filmmakers, writers, and dreamers. By combining this wide range of creativity with business expertise, we drive ourselves to discover and deliver world-class creative solutions.
Packaging Designs
Packaging is the first physical interaction with the product, and its importance is hard to underestimate. Creating smart and sustainable packaging is crucial and is a source of pride for AnalogLab. Moreover, packaging offers an opportunity to convey your brand's values, quality, and attention to detail. Through the use of sustainable materials and thoughtful design, AnalogLab ensures packaging solutions are both effective and environmentally responsible.
Manufacturing Support
This is the process where a project becomes a physical object exactly as it was designed. At this stage, AnalogLab's role expands into detailed coordination with manufacturers and suppliers. The team oversees the production process from start to finish, negotiates any necessary adjustments, and meticulously checks the samples to make sure everything is on track. The goal is to ensure your final product is exactly as planned, if not better.

DESIGN MASHUP: AN EXPERIENTIAL WORKSHOP FOR ARCHITECTS, DESIGNERS, ARTISTS & MAKERS
The AnalogLab Team
Thomas and the AnalogLab team lead an engaging annual design event that highlights the distinctive qualities of the Italian Design System. Our mission is to provide an experiential learning opportunity tailored for architects, designers, artists, and makers from around the globe. We invite you to immerse yourself in a world of creativity and contrasts at two of the most inspiring locations in Italy: Milan, one of the world’s design capitals, and the 2,500-year-old Etruscan hill town of Civita di Bagnoregio. This unique blend of environments creates an enriching atmosphere we call "DesignMashup."
The DesignMashup programs are crafted to transform participants' design practices by introducing them to the key elements of the Italian Design System. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the methods and techniques of renowned designers from Italy and beyond while connecting with a community of passionate, like-minded individuals—architects, artists, creators, and makers.
In the DesignMashup workshops, you will participate in hands-on activities, experimenting with tools and natural materials to enhance your design skills. Our goal is to teach you the essence of the Italian approach to design poetics, infusing joy and lightness into your work while helping you navigate and overcome creative blocks. We aim to equip you with essential knowledge and skills that embody the spirit of Italian design, promoting effective teamwork and participatory design processes. This immersive experience not only deepens your understanding of design but also inspires creativity and collaboration.
At AnalogLab, Thomas and the team understand the importance of going beyond mere problem-solving. We aim to infuse our work with a more poetic approach to design, which is evident in our creative process and our collaborations with clients.
Our daily immersion in Italian design has deeply influenced this philosophy. We've come to understand that true design is not just about creating functional solutions; it's about crafting emotionally rich and meaningful experiences. We believe that effective design captures the essence of a space, object, or brand, forging an emotional connection that resonates with people.
This poetic approach, rooted in Italian design philosophy, is why “Made in Italy” is synonymous with some of the world’s most desirable brands. We strive to embed this idea in all our work, ensuring that our designs are not only practical but also deeply engaging and meaningful.
Let's Create Something Great
At analogLab, we know that great ideas don't emerge in a vacuum. For over 25 years, Thomas and the analogLab team have fostered vibrant collaboration among international designers, architects, artists, photographers, filmmakers, writers, and dreamers.
